To inculcate the principles of charity, justice, love and fidelity; to promote welfare and enhance the happiness of its members; to perpetuate itself as a proactive service association for men and women, and to provide for its government; the Mid-Atlantic Mechanics' Association will serve the people and communities through benevolent programs.
  1. Foster the principles of national and state citizenship for improving living conditions in local communities;

  2. Support local and national organizations providing community-oriented services; and

  3. Promote a sense of family, love, humanity, affection, cooperation and friendship amongst the members of our Association.

  1. Freedom of religion is an inalienable human right and "tolerance" an indispensable trait of human character; we stand in our Association with Brothers and Sisters of all faiths.

  2. Education and the rational use of the mind are the keys to facing the problems of humanity.

  3. Charity is a distinguishing human virtue, that personal community service is the best demonstration of one's commitment to humanity; we acknowledge that words without deeds are meaningless.

  4. Leadership is best demonstrated by commitment to serving others; our Association is committed to helping individuals improve leadership skills.

  5. Friendship, fidelity and family provide the foundation of a well-lived life.

Maryland Public Service Program

Today, many American citizens struggle with issues tied to the affirmation of identity, citizenship and heritage. These issues stem from a toxic combination of social mislabeling and skewed information presented as historical fact.

To provide remedies to the "American" identity crisis, the Maryland Public Service Committee of the Moorish Science Temple of America has developed a comprehensive public service program focused on teaching the principles of citizenship and various techniques for introducing improvements in local communities through legislative activitiy. Shepherd's Table is a nonprofit organization in Silver Spring, Maryland, supported by volunteers, religious organizations, government, businesses, foundations, and individual donors. Our mission is to provide help to people who are homeless or in need by providing basic services, including meals, social services, medical support, clothing, and other assistance in an effective and compassionate manner.

Since 1983, Shepherd's Table has been a necessary and effective resource welcoming and serving those in need within Silver Spring. We build upon our successful strategy to make the community a better place for our clientele and others to live, work, and operate a business. Read More
